While Interconnected Through Love is not in a position to judge the efforts of organizations that come to us seeking our services, we do feel that adherence to our mission statement requires that we ensure, to the best of our ability, that our partners are “bringing love into the world”.
The main elements to be considered for eligibility to partner with Interconnected Through Love are:
- Does the organization provide a service to the community that is free of charge to the constituency it serves.
While charging for services may not disqualify a potential partner, we would be interested in ensuring the clients of the partner are receiving a significant benefit that would otherwise be unavailable to them. - Are the organization’s activities focused on bringing love and connectedness to the community it serves.
Interconnected Through Love is based on the idea that love and connectedness are interdependent nearly to the point of indistinguishability. We seek to support organizations that share and promote this view. - Does the organization impose any conditions on its prospective clients.
While potential partners may focus on a certain underserved segment of the population, we worry that conditions for choosing clientele based on religion, political affiliation, behavioral or lifestyle characteristics tend to reinforce the kind of barriers we seek to overcome. - Is the organization a nonprofit enterprise.
We seek to partner with organizations whose motive is altruistic. While we once again loath the idea of judging those that come to us for help, in the interest of maintaining our integrity for those who support us, we must try to evaluate the suitability of possible partners. 501(c)(3) standing is helpful, but we recognize that the the need for a website may pre-date the completion of this process. We may also partner with organizations from outside the USA. Finally, many organizations do wonderful work without being recognized as 501(c)(3)’s. We encourage clients to provide succinct, helpful information regarding the work that they are involved in, including whether they require any direct or indirect payment for their services. - Would the organization be otherwise able to develop a website without significant negative impact on its mission.
We expect demand for this service to be high, so in order to do the most good we will prioritize organizations that are in the greatest need for our services.
